’59 Reunion Committee Returns for our 50th Reunion on Saturday, August 29th, 2009

  Registrations can be sent at any time up to 2 weeks before the event to:   Cindy Buenting Bailey, 11044 Ironwood Road, San Diego, CA 92131-1812.  If you are coming from out of town and want to stay at the Marriott please make reservations early.   Make your reunion registration checks payable to: " MBHS 1959 Reunion" and enclose them with your completed form. 

Here are some highlights:

Dates:  Registration and no host cocktails begin at 5pm Saturday, August 29, 2009.  Followed by dinner, dancing, lots of fun and camaraderie!!!

Location:  Our headquarters is at the Marriott Hotel, La Jolla, CA
4240 La Jolla Village Drive,  La Jolla CA. 92037
 

Hotel Accommodations:  $149.00 per night double occupancy
(Self Parking $8.00 per night)
Be sure to tell them it's with MBHS 50 year reunion deal.  We have blocked a large group of rooms at that price.

      Guest Rooms in Detail

  • Rooms feature New 32" Flat Panel LCD televisions.
  • Rooms feature sliding glass doors and step out balconies.
  • High speed internet access with dual data ports including a T1 connection.
  • Every room is equipped with a coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board.
  • Personalized service in an exclusive atmosphere on our Concierge Floor.
  • Rooms feature Marriott's Revive white bedding, double pillowtop mattresses and
    goose down blankets.

 Dress:  Saturday Evening "Smart Casual." 

   Women:  Pant suits, casual dresses or  slacks with a blouse or jacket. 
    Men:  Dressy slacks, collared shirts or suits.   NO shorts, t-shirts or cutoffs please.

Activities:  The Class is planning a sensational, fun evening for Saturday night of dinner and dancing, shared with friends and loved ones who have filled our life with the greatest of memories.  Ray Vinole from the class of 1958 has a great band and will play from 8:30pm to 12:30am.
We will have a no host cocktail hour from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the Hotel on August 29th.  A huge and delicious buffet dinner will be available from 7:00pm till 8:30pm.  We will end festivities at 1:00am for the night .


Sunday, August 30, 2009, Sunday Morning finds us packing up for a picnic for great fun with old friends at Mission Bay Park for a picnic and informal gathering. The reunion committee will provide water and soft drinks -- bring whatever you want to eat  -- NO beer or liquor is allowed on San Diego beaches anymore!!   Everyone bring your own , blankets, umbrellas, etc. (don't forget the sunscreen).

Memory Book:   Even if you think you may not be able to attend the Reunion, please send in some information about yourself, along with a photo. You might not realize it, but people really do want to know what happened to you. 

      Memory books will be made and mailed after the reunion so we can include photos,
      etc.  If you attend the reunion the books are included in your registration fee... 
      If you cannot attend but still want a book you may order one from  Cindy

Get Involved!:  There are still opportunities for you to get involved in the reunion planning!  There are be two special opportunities for you to be a part of the planning! 

First:  To help encourage classmates to attend our 50th Reunion...

 We would love to see you all attend the class of 1959's  50th Reunion.
Registration Cost:  $80.00 per single--$150.00 for a couple.  The Marriott has self parking

Second:  Saturday evening the Class will hold a Silent Auction.

The will held during the festivities to replenish our bank account for the next reunion.  Charlene Allman Thorburn and Linda Gibbs Hall will be handling this for our class this time.  If you have any donations for the auction or need info concerning this please contact them directly:
